DMPK scientist at Janssen in the In Vitro ADME group supporting small molecule (including bRo5) discovery projects from oncology, immunology, and neuroscience therapeutic areas. My focus is on designing and performing mechanistic experiments to address project-specific questions and concerns along with developing rigorous and validated new assays. Curiosity-driven and passionate about contributing to the optimization of compound ADME properties in drug discovery along with advancing knowledge in the DMPK field as a whole.My research experience spans over 8 years and is focused on cytochrome P450 enzymology and kinetics. My dissertation work was on the role of cytochrome P450 27C1-mediated retinoid desaturation in the skin and was completed in the lab of Dr. Frederick P. Guengerich at Vanderbilt University. During my graduate work, I also contributed to proteomics projects and studies on other P450s (steroid metabolizing 17A1 and 11B2, orphan P450s). As an undergraduate student at Kalamazoo College, I performed activity and kinetic characterization of P450 2D6 polymorphisms and mutants with substrates and mechanism-based inactivators.
