The Rolf Method of Structural Integration is therapeutic, hands-on bodywork. It addresses stress and strain in the physical body that can show up as pain, poor posture, structural misalignment and/or compensatory movement patterns the body adopts to shore itself up so you can get on with being and doing.The goal of Rolf work is an organized and balanced body that moves with ease and grace. The hands-on work is accomplished through the fascia (often referred to as the body's organ of structure). Organization forms around 3 imagined reference lines: a central vertical line running the length of the body and beyond -- just in front of the spine; a horizontal line running through the hips, and another horizontal running through the shoulder girdle.With this structural frame in mind, I work with clients to achieve resilience and even tonus in the fascia and surrounding tissues so muscles and joints have the freedom to move with ease and the body supports itself from the inside-out.Benefits of Structural Integration/Rolf work include:+ Relief from chronic aches and pains+ Improved mobility and physical performance+ Increased energy+ Improved, structure-supporting posture+ An enhanced (or perhaps new-found) mind-body connection
