I am a European patent attorney, chartered U.K. patent attorney, and a registered UPC representative. I am part of the Biotechnology Practice Group at Carpmaels & Ransford. I work primarily with RNA-targeted drug discovery and development, protein therapeutics using the expanded genetic code, and live biotherapeutics. I have experience working at all stages of patent prosecution, from drafting and developing a filing strategy to prosecution and opposition. I have particular experience in managing large global patent families, where an in-depth understanding of the different national legislation is key to maximising global protection for the client. I have also gained valuable experience working on various validity, strategy and freedom to operate projects where I have provided opinions on the strength and commercial value of a client’s patent portfolio.I joined Carpmaels & Ransford as a trainee in 2014. I graduated from Christ Church, University of Oxford with a first class degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry. My final year project involved identifying and characterising the thymic GSL profile of mice and investigating the role CD1d plays in the neuronal dysfunction associated with Sandhoff disease. I was awarded the Gibbs prize by the University for the highest graded project in my academic year.
