Representing members of the work area to identify health and safety issues and convey these to management. Represent the workers in relation to WHS matters, monitor the PCBU’s compliance with the WHS Act, investigate WHS complaints from members of the work group; and inquire into WHS risks to workers.

Planning and scheduling maintenance as well as coordinating the program of works for maintenance activities, improvements and upgrading work as directed to allow implementation by staff and contractors. Providing technical support with asset maintenance plans for designated maintenance areas in compliance with relevant procedures, standards and codes of practice. Assisting the Maintenance & Projects delivery manager in the planning and coordination of Maintenance work on PTA’s diesel Rollingstock fleet, wheel lathe and associated assets, in addition to supporting the design and delivery of asset maintenance systems within the Mechanical engineering’s Depot maintenance team. Liaising with contractors to achieve efficient, safe, and effective results.

Providing fleet support for the Public Transport Authority’s (PTA) diesel Rollingstock assets and facilities in a rail and mechanical engineering environment. Supporting the Reliability Engineer in asset reliability analysis and improvement efforts. Participating in regular communication meetings with depot staff including, procedural change briefings, safety and reliability performance briefings and business updates.

Monitor, maintain and evaluate fleet information including complex analysis on a ‘State-wide basis. Research and analyse performance measurement and fleet changes, interpret trends. Develop, monitor and maintain benchmarks relating to fleet performance and make recommendations on improvements. Audits all vehicle related accounts, including monthly invoices from the Contract Fleet Manager, and investigate anomalies. Review, develop and support system databases and implement system improvements to meet reporting requirements. Ensure the integrity of information provided and prepare and present analytical and statistical reports and products. Monitor information on vehicle acquisition, processes, providing advice and reporting trends. Participate in the development of policies, procedures and standards relating to fleet management. Undertake operational fleet related projects, which include research, negotiation and implementation. Investigate and provide operational contract and procurement advice on fleet and related issues to senior management and internal customers.

Provide administrative and operational support and assistance to the Fleet and Equipment Services Branch and the Assistant Director, Asset Fleet Management. Coordinating the acquisition and disposal of vehicles in accordance with State Fleet and Departmental policies and guidelines, and liaise with relevant stakeholders. Coordinate repair of operational vehicles, ensuring that WA Police has a fleet of operationally safe, effective and well-maintained vehicles, at the least possible cost, whilst extracting reports on optimisation of fleet usage, trends and costs.
