As a Marketing Director, I have helped businesses figure out who they are and then helped them tell their story through a unified messaging strategy across all mediums. I like the creative aspect of designing advertisements as well as the technical requirements of trends and statistics. What works? What's worth the investment and what's not? It is a joy to watch people blossom as they are recognized for their efforts and challenged in new areas. I've overseen the creation or redesign of websites for multiple for-profit and non-profit companies. In addition to more than five years in marketing, my background includes bookstore management as well as working in libraries and other non-profits. (I also worked a brief stint at a clothing store, which confirmed that non-book-related retail was probably not the path for me.) I believe in the business school philosophy of PDCA: Plan-Do-Check-Act. However, I think it should actually be PACT: Plan-Act-Check-Tweak. I think it flows better and the acronym is easier to remember.
