I served as the sole full-time graphic designer for LifeWay's Student Ministry Publishing. The majority of my work was designing materials for numerous ongoing Bible studies such as Explore the Bible and The Gospel Project. I also designed and oversaw design for student Bible studies by authors such as Beth Moore, David Platt, Priscilla Schirer, Matt Chandler, and J.D. Greear. My purpose in this, like all LifeWay employees, was to serve churches in their mission of making disciples.

What started out as an occasional odd job turned into a way to design and illustrate for companies and individuals all over the world such as LifeWay (Nashville, TN), The International Mission Board (Richmond, VA and Taiwan), and Crossings Kids Camp (KY). Commissions varied from murals to computer illustrations to numerous print marketing designs.

I designed both print and web materials for many different clients of MP&F, the largest independent public relations firm in Tennessee and one of the largest in the Southeast. One of the most notable campaigns I created materials for is Youth 2 Youth: Partners 4 Peace (Y2Y), a student-led outreach effort to initiate positive, peer-to-peer dialogue on Job Corps centers and in surrounding communities about violence prevention. I also worked with the Nashville Public Education Foundation to create materials for Project RESET – Reimagining Education Starts with Everyone at the Table – to elevate the conversation around education in Nashville.

I assisted the Preston Center's Graduate Assistant of Marketing with designing promotional materials for different departmental events and services. This included photographing events and designing flyers, brochures, website sliders, promotional videos, and their biannual magazine.

I directed and encouraged WKU students, faculty, and community members as they participated in water aerobic exercises. The aerobic resistance workouts were done by both standing and swimming in varying depths of water.

I have lifeguarded and taught swim lessons at three different pools over the last four years. I now lifeguard and teach private swim lessons at WKU's Preston Center, where I have also organized events for employees through the Preston Center's Student Employee Board. I have earned CPR/AED and first aid, lifeguarding, and water safety instructor certifications through the Red Cross.At the Jimmy Floyd Family Center and at Sweetwater Pools in Nashville, TN, I oversaw lifeguards and maintained the pool areas, providing physical assistance and customer service to swimmers. As a swim instructor at both of these locations, I taught public swim and water safety lessons to people of various ages, ranging from infants to adults.

As the office's first graphic design intern, I designed advertising materials such as posters, web banners and t-shirts for the office's numerous outreach events.As the office's first Peer Advisor Chair, I oversaw and organized WKU Peer Advisors at WKU's Study Abroad and Global Learning office. Peer Advisor responsibilities included inspiring WKU students to study abroad and advising students in and out of the office as they prepared to study abroad. I also helped lay the foundation for the new Study Abroad Student Representative program.

Created designs for book covers, ads, web banners, and various other marketing pieces under the supervision of Thomas Nelson, Inc. Art Directors. I interned for approximately 240 hours and received WKU advertising intern credit for the experience.

Assisted in branding an annual conference for Cru, an international nonprofit organization.The conference, IndyCC, hosted approximately 2,500 college students in December 2011.I interned full time for ten weeks, approximately 320 hours.
