With CEO experience, Sarah Oquist is a results-driven leader, skilled change agent, and governance strategist. As the first in her Native American tribe to earn a law degree and a first-generation high school graduate, Sarah brings a unique perspective and a keen ability to inspire individuals across constituencies - from customers and front-line employees to executives and board directors. Sarah’s expertise lies in transforming risks into trust-building opportunities, driving organizational success, strengthening leadership engagement, and enhancing stakeholder relations. Sarah excels in operational strategies that boost efficiency, engagement, and sustainability.In her three decades of board service, Sarah has chaired Compensation, Finance, and Governance committees in various industries. She currently serves as board chair of Woodlands National Bank and Management HQ. She is also governance chair for National Association of Corporate Directors Minnesota, board vice-president of the Walker Art Center, and board director for two nonprofit real estate development companies. Previously, Sarah was CEO of conglomerate ML Corporate Ventures and served as the Corporate Commissioner for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, overseeing the tribe's economic development.Among her recognitions, Sarah was honored as one of the 2024 Twin Cities Women Leaders in Philanthropy & Business, 2021 Notable Women in Commercial Banking, 2019 FBI Citizens Academy selectee, and 2017 NACD Corporate Governance Fellow.Sarah resides in a Minneapolis suburb with her husband and two children.
