Strategic development and growth of comprehensive conservation and research program, promoting the safeguarding of coastal birds and their habitats through volunteer engagement, citizen science, education and outreach, and strategic partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies, local academic institutions and community organizations. Provide human resource oversight and direction for a team of six full-time employees, upwards of eight part-time employees, and over 100 volunteers; board administration; budget development and expenditure oversight; and proposal development and grant management.Key Achievements:*Secured grants and contracts in excess of 2.9M USD, including funding from RESTORE Act allocations.*Reduced state operating costs, outside of coastal program, by upwards of 25%.*Created and drafted restoration plans for priority species and priority habitats for inclusion in the National Audubon Society’s Gulf Conservation Plan (October 2018). *Bolstered Mississippi restoration team by providing strategy for bird monitoring and conservation.

Directed operations of an isolated research compound and national marine reserve management post, including overseeing of facilities and exhibits, staff management, facilitated marine reserve management, hosting researchers and student groups, and fiscally prudent procurement of goods. Monitored and addressed critical threats to the Glover’s Reef Marine Reserve as well as species specific concerns.Key Achievements:*Championed visitor outreach for conservation and management of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef utilizing presentations, short speeches, and tours. *Exercised authority over donor management including grant proposal and report drafting, maintaining development deadlines, and cultivating new donors.*Drafted new facility policies and streamlined administration; created efficiencies in overall operations. *Fostered strong working relationships with stakeholders including the Government of Belize, local fishers, and tourism outfits.*Monitored priority species (corals, birds, fish, etc.), habitats (seagrass, mangroves, etc.), and threats (unsustainable fishing, nutrient overload, acidification, etc.)
