Manager, Volunteer Services
Current Plan, develop, and manage Volunteer Services so that the organization derives full benefit from important resources available to it through a consistently well-managed corps of volunteers. Ensure that each volunteer is oriented to organization and volunteer program. Regularly review the effectiveness of services performed by volunteers to promote safety and risk management, as well as coach and counsel for continuous improvement. Align department goals with health system and Trinity Health strategic initiatives. Organize appropriate recognition, retention, and motivation programs for volunteers. Monitor and improve processes for recruiting, onboarding, orienting, training, and coordinating volunteers. Maintain a record-keeping system (Volgistics) which facilitates access to current statistics and information on all volunteers used to generate monthly and annual reports. Provide appropriate training and coordination of schedules for multiple Montgomery County Public and private high schools’ internship programs to guarantee students meet regulatory requirements and are supportive of hospital programs. In partnership with content experts, provides training for all volunteer services programs performed at bedside (Ex. No One Dies Alone, Veterans Visiting Veterans, etc.). Develop budget, adhere to approved budget, justify/document budget variances. Establish and maintain good relationships with professional peers and participate in relevant continuing education programs to enhance professional growth, maintaining membership and attending meetings of appropriate organizations locally, statewide and nationally. Foster relationships with external organizations that place their participants at the hospital for training and development (such as Work Opportunities Unlimited, Urban Alliance, Target Community & Educational Services Inc., MCPS, Community Options Inc., etc.).
