I am an experienced Director within the Global Corporate Reporting team at Grant Thornton International, leading on sustainability reporting. I also represent Grant Thornton in various technical forums and promote the high-quality consistent application of IFRS and various sustainability standards across its 140 member firm network. I have deep expertise in the solving the corporate reporting challenges faced by mid-market and large proprietary organisations.I have over 25 years’ experience within the accounting profession in both the UK and Australia. As the leader of Grant Thorton’s sustainability reporting team I am currently putting in place structures for member firms to grow their sustainability practices, upskilling them in sustainability reporting standards and ensuring that our network has a robust system for responding to sustainability reporting questions.Prior to sustainability my focus was on IFRS. In this role I provided extensive support to Grant Thornton member firms through providing an international IFRS query helpdesk, technical publications and training. I still do this, but to a lesser extent as my main focus is sustainability reporting. We also represent the views of our member firms in discussions with the International Accounting Standards Board and in other forums. I have a particular interest in the new leasing Standard - IFRS 16 and represented Grant Thornton in the large firms international leasing sub-group while it was running.Before Grant Thornton International, I was a member of the audit division of Grant Thornton Australia based in Sydney (previously BDO prior to a merger) from 2006 to 2014, where I managed a portfolio of audit clients across a broad range of industries including ASX listed and large proprietary companies with global operations.
