A move that will save the practice $12,000 over the next ten years.

As an ECC team-member, I was responsible for monitoring and properly tracking all disaster activities in the Greater New York region and ensuring that all response on-duty personnel were appropriately supported in delivering the Red Cross's mission, in part by making certain that they were current with verified information and that all necessary activities were kept informed.

Morristown National Historical Park memorializes the 1779 - 1780 winter encampment of the Continental Army under General George Washington. To help the Park bring its important history to life for students, I revitalized 20 year old school programs through the creation of three new experiential learning activities. I also co-facilitated these updated school programs for nearly 200 students alongside Park staff, lead 10 formal interpretive tours of the historic Ford Mansion (where Washington stayed during that winter), and provided informal interpretation of Morristown and its historical importance to over 5,000 visitors. In addition, I helped to put together sustainable in-processing and training materials for future interns.

AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) works to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service. As a Unit Development Assistant, I was selected to serve alongside my Unit Leader to conceptualize, design, and facilitate trainings, meetings, service learning activities, team building activities, debriefs, and overall team readiness for approximately 70 Corps Members and seven Team Leaders throughout their 10 months of service. I was also responsible for coordinating Unit logistics and managing/keeping organized all Unit paperwork, including personnel profiles, project reports, and hours worked.As a Team Leader, I mentored two different groups of eight Corps Members with diverse backgrounds from across the United States, ranging in age from 18-24 years, with the goal of creating and maintaining a healthy, safe, and productive experience for all by utilizing problem solving and conflict resolution skills while upholding accountability and discipline in order to meet NCCC expectations and priorities. My teams worked as teacher's aides in Denver, Colorado, Volunteer Income Tax Assistants (VITA) with Next Step KC in Kansas City, Missouri, and a trail maintenance crew for the Mark Twain National Forest in southeast Missouri.

Pictograph Cave State Park, a National Historic Landmark, commemorates and protects several caves that were home to generations of prehistoric hunters. To help the Park better engage visitors, I led 30 different school programs and special interest groups and managed four volunteer days, recruiting 55 new episodic volunteers and two recurring volunteers to assist around the Park. I also introduced an Information Table to the Visitor Center to better inform guests about the Park's offerings and designed press releases to inform the public about Park events.

World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) is a unique educational organic farming and cultural exchange program that allows participants to gain practical and sustainable agriculture experience, while meeting and forming relationships with people from around the world. I had the opportunity to travel to the Big Island of Hawaii and work on 4 different organic farms. I started my adventure with a Hare Krishna community near Hilo, HI; then traveled to the west side of the island near Kona, HI where I helped to plant and harvest 14 different types of lettuce on an organic lettuce farm. Next, I cleared land on a 300 acre coffee plantation, and finally, harvested bags of macadamia nuts. In order to work at each of these farms, I initiated cold-calls to identify potential work opportunities and thrived in a communal living setting.

The Program for Advancing in Scholarship & Service (PASS) is a selective first-year academic learning community for Arts and Sciences students who have a shared interest in the academic, cultural, career, and community benefits of diversity.
