• Researched and developed materials for a City of Pittsburgh art commission application (in progress) for a historic Deutschtown district branding E. Ohio streetscape beautification project through the largest community development corporation in the Pittsburgh region. Interns supported The Northside Leadership Conference’s efforts to help improve and facilitate community progress in the Northside community. Interns were provided with direct supervision from experienced staff members in the Real Estate Department as they contribute their energy and skills to our mission. The Northside Leadership Conference (NSLC) is a coalition of Northside community-based organizations, committed to addressing mutual concerns through a united approach in order to promote and enhance the vitality, quality of life and image of Pittsburgh’s Northside. NSLC serves 20% of the City and operates seven business lines, making NSLC the largest and most comprehensive CDC in Pittsburgh. Through this internship participants learned the basics of community organizing through mobilizing volunteers, fundraising, working with the media, and organizing large events. Interns also provided support to the Conference’s current Real Estate development efforts.

•Completed entry project of museum’s auction catalogue collection into museum database. • Created comprehensive guide for Museum's internal database for future interns.•Collated auction catalogue materials; research realized prices and permanent collection objects for 2012 Exhibit Inventing the Modern World: Decorative Arts at the World’s Fairs, 1851–1939 (Upcoming October 13, 2012–February 24, 2013). The Department of Decorative Arts and Design cares for historic furniture, ceramics, glass, metalwork, and textiles, as well as contemporary craft and design. Interns assist with the day to day curatorial operations of the department, conducting research on the permanent collection, and helping to create planning tools for upcoming exhibitions and installations.
