I work with small businesses, building their marketing capabilities from the ground up using project management tools and design theories, and with large professional services firms, improving their practises and processes around digital marketing and social selling.My clients include professional speakers, marketing agencies, legal tech companies, experience companies, employee wellbeing consultancies, and innovation consultancies.

I pioneered social media marketing and digital marketing at Baker McKenzie in Asia Pacific. I found ways to close the loop between digital content and revenue generation activity. I did this through coaching partners one-on-one on their personal strategy, ghostwriting content and ensuring that leads from digital marketing campaigns were captured effectively. I often applied design thinking methods to accelerate improvement of processes and bring fresh perspectives - such as gamified legal training, interactive maps to deliver legal advice and repurposing of content to get more return on investment.My clearest contribution was this: I increased Baker McKenzie's Asia followers by 100%, generated about 8 million impressions, 60,000 engagements and 30,000 click throughs in 2 years. I also trained 200 people in person and 650 people in total in social selling and social media marketing. I significantly contributed to Baker McKenzie's status as the world's most-followed law firm.

I joined Baker McKenzie in order to work more deeply with companies on anti-corruption strategy as well as to improve my business development and marketing skills. I helped our Dispute Resolution Group (including anti-corruption compliance and international arbitration), the Competition Law Group and the Employment Law Group reach clients who need them.One example of where I made a difference is: As we tried to grow the group, we realised that our information about enforcement activity was not centralised. I formed an excel database of enforcement activity, using information from a vendor, and analysed it in relation to our strategy, client base and key relationship partners. We were able to identify a core group of target clients who may need our help to improve their anti-corruption compliance programmes.

I did research and developed agendas and other content for telecoms and legal conferences, with a particular focus on anti-corruption compliance and technological inclusion. Beacon Events employs around 40 people in Hong Kong.One trend I spotted was this: Through research, I identified cybersecurity as an issue that would become important and suggested that we run a conference on it. This was at the end of 2011, within 18 months multiple cybersecurity scandals broke about alleged hacking by China's government and Edward Snowdon.

I did market research, produced agendas and found speakers for financial events; specifically aviation finance, private wealth, project finance and derivatives events. Euromoney Institutional Investor is a large publishing company that employs 2,300 people in 50 specialist businesses.One area in which I succeeded was this: I was put in charge of the Asia Pacific Airfinance Seminar, the largest seminar in the Asia Pacific portfolio. The conference grew in revenue under my care and I forged lasting relationships with a number of the individuals at companies that sponsored this conference.

I helped with the logistical aspects of managing an event, whether a conference or a wedding, to ensure that our clients were happy. We worked with the Ministry of Defence, McKinsey, and many couples with different needs. I worked during the university holidays to help pay my way through.One process that I was able to improve was this: The marketing database was four years old and out of date. I gleaned information from the internet to refresh and update it, designed a new flyer and sent it to all the local businesses in a successful direct marketing campaign.
