Growing up volunteering and competing in beauty pageants, I was taught many valuable skills from a young age. Some of the most useful skills that have been able to translate into helping me with a successful career have been; public speaking, leadership, interviewing, and teamwork. Upon moving to Jacksonville in 2015, I continued to work in an office environment, doing marketing, HR, and other managerial duties for a local chiropractic office. In this position I learned a lot about recruitment, interviewing skills, Onboarding, marketing, and being an effective leader.After a few months, I decided to switch my focus and go toward education. I was working at the University of North Florida briefly before I decided to take on the K-12 world. While working toward my teaching certification, I was a substitute teacher in Duval County. During this time, I learned quite a bit about classroom management and communication, while also further developing my communication skills, both written and verbal. Taking a full time teaching position was not what I expected at all, but in such an amazing way! My first year I was placed at a Title 1 inner city school where I learned to develop meaningful relationships with my students, many of whom did not have an adult to advocate for them. In this position, I learned a lot about patience, understanding, and maintaining a diverse and inclusive environment. While I love my time teaching and would not trade it for the world, I am looking to go back to the business sector and pursue a career in Human Resources, as that was what my true passion was from the first time I experienced the recruitment and training and development side of the industry. With such a diverse skill set and many different experiences, I am confident that I am able to provide a well rounded perspective to any environment. I am a hard worker, especially when I am passionate about something. Teaching middle schoolers for the past 3.5 years has taught me to look at things in different ways and take on challenges in a creative manner.
