The Trauma-Informed Utah Initiative is a collaborative community grant project sponsored by the Utah Department of Health and administered by the Social Research Institute at the University of Utah's College of Social Work. My role is to facilitate the establishment of a statewide collaborative that will support the integration of trauma-informed policies and practices within organizations and businesses across Utah.

HMHI is a psychiatric hospital that primarily offers inpatient psychiatric services. I provide weekend coverage for the youth/adolescent inpatient social work team. I conduct intake assessments and facilitate therapeutic process groups.

I provide individual and family therapy services to children, adolescents, and young adults who are either currently or previously involved in Utah's child welfare system. I am trained in three therapeutic modalities, including: - PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy) --> working towards certification- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) --> working towards certification- TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

Provided case management and crisis services to domestic violence survivors. Connected clients with local and regional resources, including legal services, affordable housing, health care, and employment opportunities.

Managed existing community health education programs and collaborations. Developed new programs based on MRH's Community Health Needs Assessment Strategic Plan. Advocated for community health initiatives and collaborations with community organizations and leadership, specifically focusing on mental health, substance use, and chronic illness. Directed ongoing marketing and advertising activities for the hospital, clinics, and other services. Supervised AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer. Specific Projects Accomplishments Include:- Coordinated 2016 Community Health Needs Assessment and led the planning process with hospital leadership to develop the 2016-2019 CHNA Strategic Plan - Served as the program manager of $124k Cambia Health Foundation grant to integrate behavioral health services into the Moab Regional Health Center primary care services- Assisted with development of Moab Regional Hospital's Addiction Medicine program in collaboration with University of Utah's Neuropsychiatric Institute

Oversaw the Grand County Hospice volunteer and bereavement programs, including managing volunteer recruitment, annual/monthly training activities, and facilitating volunteer placement with hospice families. Overhauled organizational policies and procedures pertaining to volunteer and bereavement activities to bring GCH in compliance with CMC Medicare operation standards. This work later helped GCH achieve its first deficiency-free Medicare survey in its 30 year operating history. Also utilized Moab Regional Hospital's 2013 Community Health Needs Assessment to design, organize, and execute educational programs and public health awareness campaigns and events. Represented Moab Regional Hospital at community outreach events and other community activities. Managed the hospital and hospice social media accounts and assisted with advertising and marketing campaigns.
