I was a bull-headed, passionate, persuasive communicator then – and I was just getting started. • I make things happen. •As Main Camp Leader at Camp Otterbein, I advocated for sweeping reform in the fundamental structure of how camp was organized and led. When it looked like the camp was on the verge of closing, I rallied. Revamping programing, inspiring staff, and making creative changes to increase camp attendance by 25% in one summer resulted in our highest approval ratings in years. • I never back down. •When I believe in a cause or organization, my “failure-is-not-an-option” attitude becomes my guiding light. No idea is too small or too ridiculous to entertain. Feedback is constantly sought. Changes are made. • I’m always listening, always improving. •As the Communications and Marketing Coordinator at Ohio Christian University, I learned the ins and outs of managing the public profile of a major university, comfortably interacting and critiquing Vice Presidents and President, and the art of creating a compelling narrative to the press and public.
