Treatment of addictions concentration

Provided initial mental health assessments and individual psychotherapy for individuals aged 12 to 61. Clients were primarily African American, 70% female, 30% Male with a wide range of diagnoses. Psychotherapy provided through Cognitive Behavioral, Humanistic, and Motivational Interviewing lenses. Areas of clinical work have included but are not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, anger issues, posttraumatic stress disorder, substance dependence, substance recovery, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, chronic pain, and ADHD.

Co-facilitated Life Skills group with homeless youth. Assisted in H.E.L.L.O. homeless youth activism group.

Shadowed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Social Worker perform Mini Mental Status Examinations, intake sessions, individual sessions, family sessions, intervention plans, psychotropic evaluations, and discharge intervention plans. Co-led a Discharge for Life group. Executed educational material on how to manage emotions, stress, financial stability, addictions, and how to live a life of fulfillment with HIV/AIDS.
