My background is in leisure and hospitality marketing and business development, and I now specialise in Sustainability (or ESG), having written two books on the subject: The Sustainable Business Book (2023) and The Ethical Business Book (2019).I have over 35 years business experience in a range of sectors including tourism and hospitality, luxury goods, membership and fractional ownership, fitness and wellness, events, media, legal, and private equity. This includes leadership roles, working overseas, lots of training, and general consultancy.Alongside The Sustainable Business Book, in 2023 I developed The PLANET System® - standing for Panic, Learn, Agree, Navigate, Enact, Tell. We now offer online PLANET products, including PLANET Basic: a free ESG audit and PLANET Pro: a full education + improvement framework.In 2020, I successfully completed the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership, Business Sustainability Management course.I currently champion Sustainability in Hospitality, through:• Being sustainability advisor to HOSPA (Hospitality Professionals Association).• Being an ambassador for The Independent Hotel Show.• Being a national juror for GreenKey.• Speaking at various events, including HOSPACE, The Independent Hotel Show, and HRC (Hotel, Restaurant and Catering) Show.In 2020, my husband and I merged our companies and created Expert Advice / Sleeping Lion (EASL), which became a certified B Corp in 2022. EASL exists to create helpful books, training programmes, online products and consultancy, to educate and inspire businesses and individuals to be their best. Our success in doing this enables us to support the charities and causes that we care about through cash, time and product donations.
