Simply Equality is a social enterprise which exists to break down barriers faced by disabled and lgbtq+ people in the workplace. We seek to do this through 3 key activities namely educating workplaces on the lived experiences of disabled / LGBTQ+people and the barriers they face; empowering disabled/LGBTQ+ people to have the confidence and competence to get the support they require and to embed inclusive practices and behaviours in the strategy, culture and practice of a company or organisation. Our key services are providing workshops and training, public speaking and consultancy. Our vision is to live in a world where disabled/LgBTQ+ people are free to live a free and fulfilling life whatever that may mean forthem. It is a limited company however we are committed to running it according to the values and practicies of a social enterprise for example reinvesting at least 50% of our profits back into the company.

Supporting disabled staff across the university and leading on trans issues for staff and students.

Leading the University's Equality and Diversity Unit through an exciting period of transition. My duties included taking responsibility for leading on policy and practice around disability and LGBTQ+ inclusion and bullying and harassment. Along with my co-Head I had line-management responsibility for members of the wider team and representing the team at various internal committees and ensuring that EDI issues are suitably considered in every aspect of the University's activity.

Offering bespoke training, consultancy and speaking on the real-life issues faced by disabled and LGBT+ people in society and the workplace. . I've worked with a range of public and private sector organisations including Nottinghamshire City and County Council, Notinghamshire Police, Stonewall, Boots Wallgreen Alliance, the Law Society and Zurich Insurance.

Managing a caseload of 280 students with a range of long-term medical conditions and/or recognised disabilities.Liasing with other university staff inc. academics to ensure reasonable adjustments are in place for studentsAssessing disabled applicants for support requirements and ensuring appropriate support is put in place upon arrivalParticipating in staff traning on disability awareness issues
