About Sarah Stio

I've had an incredibly diverse career that has taken me from Acadia National Park in Maine to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. I work collaboratively across the Academy, managing and creating content for their public and member-facing social media channels. Previously, I was the Social Media Specialist at the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture. Before educating the public through social media, I educated the public as a park ranger with the National Park Service. I gave talks, guided walks, shuttle tours and campground programs to park visitors to connect people to our national parks, and helped them plan their vacations at visitor centers. At Zion, I made the transition from helping and educating people in person to helping and educating people online through the park website, social media accounts, newspapers, signs, brochures, and other print media. It was here that I came to realize the power of digital media and how it operates in tandem with in-person interactions to educate and inspire the public. Throughout all of my various jobs and experiences I've had over the years, educating and inspiring people has been at the heart of it all, and is what I love most about what I get to do each and every day.

Listed skills include Social Media, Nonprofit Organizations, Customer Service, Public Speaking, and 5 others.
