I have almost 20 years experience working on association, academic, public sector and business events in the North East of England, across the UK and internationally, and I have co-founded and led my own event agency for the last 10 of those.Event and business strategy is my forte. I thrive on the challenge of making an event or project concept 'work' delivering the vision, while ensuring it is realistic and achievable within timescales and budget available. I am one of the co founders and co creators of the north east tech festival TechNExt with the inaugural event taking place across the region in June 2023, returning in 2024.I am passionate about leading and driving forward the company’s ESG strategy and am focused on balancing purpose with profit while ensuring we are a responsible business focused on doing the right thing for the right reason. It’s a journey, there is always more we can do and I love learning from others and pushing the agenda forward for the events sector, and for our region.A focus area for me right now is finding sustainable event solutions and minimising the impact of our events on the environment. I have recently been named a Power 50 Green Champion for the events industry nationally by Isla and micebook. I love giving my time in kind to guide and lead these organisations to successfully deliver on their mission and I am personally motivated to help them achieve success.My experience of working on international conferences in the Middle East has enhanced my understanding of and sensitivity to cultural differences which is crucial when managing events internationally.I’m proud of the BeaconHouse events team and all we’ve achieved, especially over the past few years pivoting all our events to virtual, continuing to deliver valuable interactions for our clients and now building back stronger at face to face and hybrid events with a focus on sustainability
