In my role as Project Office Team Lead, my primary responsibility is to support a team of Technology Project Managers, ensuring they are equipped with a streamlined, easy to use set of tools and processes with which to successfully deliver their projects whilst maintaining adherence to Horizon Power’s Corporate PMO and Risk & Governance processes. Key achievements while in this role include a redesign of the technology project office team structure and workload approach, establishment of streamlined templates and processes, ongoing mentoring and coaching of project support staff and project managers and the introduction of new reporting tools. In doing so, the team has been able to expand their support services to the wider technology department and provide support to BAU and management.Role Responsibilities - Project governance and quality assurance across all Technology Projects - Review of project management reports and documents to ensure consistency and polish - Provide support and guidance to the Project Management team for customer reporting and stakeholder communications - Assist in resolution of project delivery issues, both internal and external - Development and implementation of monthly portfolio analysis, KPI and management reporting - Guidance, development and training on PMO processes and requirements - Project audits and compliance reviews - Identification and analysis of project anomalies, including development and implementation of mitigation activities - Coaching and development of Project Management and Project Support resources - Detailed project analysis and investigation - Establishment and management of meetings and workshops including Team Meetings, Steering Committee meetings and Risk Workshops - Cost analysis across project and operational cost centres - Management of department timesheeting including compliance and reconciliation to project forecasts and budgets - Pipeline and Portfolio management and reporting
