As a leader with more than 20 years in communications and business, I have advocated for policy changes that are inclusive and build community resilience. In 2021, I oversaw the passage of two bills in the Texas Legislature, SB 941 that established the first State Scenic Byways Program (the last state in America to join the National Scenic Byways Program) and SB 1090 providing cities with the ability to pursue International Dark Sky Association designation and protect Dark Skies. My focus is on meaningful work that enhances the world for the the next generation. With key strengths in executive leadership, strategic plan development and implementation, advocacy, messaging, fundraising and writing, I'm still not done learning.Currently, I am focused on impacting the workforce housing and early childcare crisis in La Plata County and protecting the night so that everyone may see the stars and Milky Way throughout the state of Colorado. per aspera ad astra
