I use my platform to promote sound policy, especially as it relates to children. I serve as ranking member on the Children and Families Committee, on the Budget Committee, and on the Subcommittee on Appropriations--Health, Mental Health, and Social Services. I am actively working on foster care policy as it relates to missing children and on foster children's social security. I have done significant work related to state Medicaid enrollment and Medicaid expansion. I have passed a bill to create a Maternal Mortality Review Board in Missouri, which has been active for 3 years.I possess sophisticated technical, strategic, and relationship understandings about how policy gets made through legislation, appropriations, and administrative / regulatory action. I regularly research state and federal policy to broaden my understanding of relevant topics. I enjoy digging deep to understand how legislation interacts with current policies, and I regularly am able to amend bills. I have respect for my analytical skills among Democratic and Republican legislators. I possess a thorough knowledge and grasp of systems change and the ability to identify and orchestrate the levers of change. As coordinator, I educate the St. Louis community about ADHD. This includes coordinating CHADD meetings, marketing our monthly meetings and resources, coordinating a social media strategy, and giving talks to community groups about ADHD and how it affects people in their daily lives.
