I believe in the power of a good story and that belief has been central to my work in a variety of different jobs: 8th-grade English teacher; various documentary-film production roles, and entrepreneurial endeavors. I watched the eyes of students brighten as they recognized truths that mattered to them through story. I worked for many years helping to shape meaningful, true stories in the documentary space and also served on the boards of the International Documentary Association and the TV Academy to help support that very important community. I have scoured for just the right story detail, fact, and/or imagery and hunted for just the right expert to make sure the right pieces of a story fell in place with all the proper expertise and permissions. As a writer, I have puzzled and pressed out poems and articles, scripts and "treatments", "content" and "concepts" and the journey has always somehow been a blessing.I produced "Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic"​ (Showtime), the highest rated documentary on Showtime in nine years and winner of the 2013 NAACP Image Award for Best Documentary. Other production credits include: Red Table Talk (Facebook Watch); Religion of Sports (Audience Network); The Keepers (Netflix); Revenge of the Electric Car (Independent Lens); Last Will & Testament (Centropolis Entertainment); and When Strangers Click (HBO).
