Throughout my educational career, I have held an unwavering interest in vector-borne pathogens. While completing my B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the UC Santa Cruz (California), I participated in research aimed at generating a model for the transmission dynamics of avian malaria. I maintained mosquito colonies and helped with in vivo infection and transmission experiments.After graduating in the spring of 2020, I moved to Colorado and began the Biomedical Science and Biotechnology Masters program at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. As a student in the Microbiology and Immunology track, I participated in intensive courses and laboratory rotations for the first year of the program. Concurrently, I began working for BioInfo Solutions, LLC as a Bioinformatician. After the first year of my program, I spent the summer of 2021 doing an abroad rotation in the Saleh lab at Institut Pasteur in Paris. The second and final year of my Masters program was spent conducting thesis research on the role of exoribonuclease resistant RNAs (xrRNAs) during Zika virus infection in the Beckham laboratory at CU Anschutz. My thesis research was compiled into a paper and successfully defended in the spring of 2022. Concurrently, I started my own contract bioinformatics company- Archer Bioinformatics, LLC.I am currently pursuing a Microbiology Ph.D. at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where I am researching how preexisting immunity to Influenza A viruses (IAVs) reinforces imprinting bias and shapes the humoral responses to future IAV exposures. I am also open for hire as an R&D consultant through my own bioinformatics company Archer Bioinformatics, LLC.
