Writing has always been my dream. I toughed it out throughout my file, but I discovered that time, which is so essential for learning and growing, is hard to find in our 30s and 40s, and we're building our families and careers.It is especially difficult when you do it all by yourself, without direction. You'll need even more time this way.I have done it that way for a long long time, and I know how fast I grew as an author once I found a community and a little guidance.I want to offer everything I know to writers that are now finding more time to invest in their dream. I've attended conferences all over the world (online), and I've been on a few panels myself.Since 2021, I've started collaborating with Marco Dalla Valle's Accademia di Biblioterpia Online. For this school, I've curated a course about Tolkien's life and work.
I've written stories ever since I was able to write, but I published my first one in 2016. Ghost Through the Cracks is a historical fantasy novella set in Chicago in 1924. I've written classic fantasy most of my life, but in recent years I've moved to fantasy stories set in the 1920s. It's such an exciting time, and I find it resonates so strongly with our experience of today. I also maintain a blog, The Old Shelter, where I mostly write about the social history of the 1920s, and I write about creative writing and Tolkien on Medium.
