The Operations Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies facilities including offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, overnight guest rooms, and public spaces, are welcoming and engaging for our diverse campus community and guests. In collaboration with the second Operations Coordinator, oversee and coordinate daily operations including but not limited to, managing staff, scheduling of space, the coordination and execution conferences, events, guest overnights, use of classrooms, the set-up, operation and troubleshooting audiovisual equipment, maintenance, and safety. Ensure the highest level of customer service. Exercise independent judgment and initiative in bringing information opportunities or challenges to the Director’s attention. The Operations Coordinator is responsible for facility opening, closing and emergency evacuation procedures, and compliance with University and state rules and regulations regarding safety of building personnel and guests. Represent the University of San Diego and the Kroc School while working with the campus community and the local, national, corporate, legal and non-profit communities. Works under the general supervision of the Director of Operations and Events. Directs the work of Operations staff. Close supervision of temporary (on-call) staff, work-study and other student staff.

- Manage social media platforms and website maintenance - Generate, edit, publish and share daily content- Coordinate and collaborate with staff on marketing strategies - Coordinate and collaborate with external creators (animation, music, graphics)- Film and edit video content used on social media and websites

- Small breakout room setups with LCD packages, audio packages, and/or power runs.- Large ballroom setups with large screens and rigging such as projection, lighting, and speakers.- Face to face interaction with all clients daily. Essential to meeting all AV and hotel needs while maintaining a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication.- Ensure that the client receives a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.- Monitor events and check in on clients throughout the events' duration. - Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues. - Handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.- Use the equipment sheets to determine the equipment scheduled for set up and for strike. - Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all departments of the hotel.- Interact with outside vendors for equipment rental as well as event management.- Manage gear transfers between properties based on different events.- Manage outside help such as union workers and other PSAV technicians from other properties.

- Operate live production of events.- Video capture & web streaming of events.- Lighting design and programming.- Video switching.- Audio operation including microphones, program, audio/video conferencing.- Setup and operation of portable A/V equipment.- Troubleshooting all technology problems.
