•Provide engineering support to field crews involved in the retrofit of pump stations, shallow flooding piping, regulator stations, chemical injection design, water retention ponds, roads, wells, water treatment facilities•Prepare preliminary and final designs with formal specifications and drawings for retrofit equipment and new mechanical designs for brine and surface water models; to include cost estimates, schedules, material purchase orders, and, if required, a formal or informal… Show more •Provide engineering support to field crews involved in the retrofit of pump stations, shallow flooding piping, regulator stations, chemical injection design, water retention ponds, roads, wells, water treatment facilities•Prepare preliminary and final designs with formal specifications and drawings for retrofit equipment and new mechanical designs for brine and surface water models; to include cost estimates, schedules, material purchase orders, and, if required, a formal or informal contract•Field engineering duties include over 48.6 square miles of infrastructure that requires continuous corrective & preventative maintenance and improvements for piping and facilities in a highly corrosive environment•Mitigate new water system challenges using pump systems (submersible and above ground), flush valve modifications, flowmeter system reads, drain management unit and sump pump redesign, isolation and flow control valves to reclaim water in managed vegetation•Contract administration duties includes testing mechanical equipment, quality assurance, evaluation of water system flow performance and control; collaborating with civil and electrical engineering groups, operation and maintenance forces, and various Regulatory & County agencies, and stake holders, in acquiring permits and approvals•Create Standard Operating Procedures per OSHA standards•Booster Pump On-site Testing & Procurement•Flow meter replacements and retrofitting•Assisted with design and construction of a Hydraulic Roller to remove an emergency liner from Owens Lake in a time sensitive manner•Worked with outside groups to Calculate & Replace traffic rated vault roofs to a new design to support other time sensitive projects •Worked with Aqueduct Safety to provide an OSHA approved design for pump lifting devices•Purchase of Non-stock material with written specifications to include Owens Lake Submersible Pumps, valves, actuators and any additional project needs Show less
