As a paralegal I assisted lawyers within our team with the preparation of cases, publications and lectures. I mostly conducted legal research on European and national procurement law.
Active in the Competition & Regulatory department, specifically in the practice areas of state aid, procurement and competition law.
International law & human rights practice group. I worked on highly sensitive cases that concerned various elements of international law and international human rights law, and supported the lawyers by conducting legal research.

Grading memorials as well as judging the oral rounds. The case concerned a global pandemic and the obligations of States in light thereof, such as the right to entry one's country. It also involved issues regarding the jurisdiction of the ICJ in light of a counter-claim, State responsibility for shooting down a civilian aircraft, and political asylum.
Member of the team of the University of Amsterdam. We became runner-ups in the Dutch national finals. My research focused on the question of jurisdiction at the ICJ, mostly in light of the law of State succession to bilateral treaties. I also conducted research on the human rights elements that concern the use of automatic weapons. Our team received the 1st prize for best memorials, and I received the 1st prize for best oralist.
Internship at the department of EU law, Competition & Regulated Markets. The activities included conducting background research, writing legal memos, and analysing EU procedures. I also prepared an in-depth presentation for the team about legal developments within European law.
Pro Bono Connect is a project of the Dutch section of the International Commission of Jurists, which matches NGOs with top lawyers in the Netherlands for free legal advice. My tasks included the general management of the project, intake and distribution of new requests, organizing joint workshops and seminars for lawyers and NGOs on legal issues, reaching out to NGOs and social enterprises, and maintaining contact with the network through newsletters and social media
As an intern, I prepared meetings, organized seminars for lawyers on human rights-related topics, conducted research on legal issues under Dutch law (e.g. debts caused by governmental fines that are automatically increased, without assessment), and wrote content for social media on developments relevant to the civil society. Moreover, I assisted at the newly created project Pro Bono Connect with general tasks.
