UOE-SAWL pipe manufacturing process improvement, raw material improvement evaluation, cronoanalysis (specially in tooling exchange), development of national suppliers in order to reduce cost and lead time, conduct weekly and daily meetings about safety, productivity and investments, creation of cost, productivity, improvements and labor reports and general analysis to help mill management.During my time in the manufacturing area, I developed my Trainee Project, which is a pre-requirement to graduate in the program too. My project aimed to use IBA (system based on software and hardware for process data acquisition and analysis) to structure process data from all available UOE-SAWL equipment to enable data basis creation, data visualization and in the near future, whole process follow up, among some of the possible applications. The importance of the project in the mid to long term is that with the created data basis, it would enable to correlate process with product data, allowing to predict mechanical properties, for example. With that data the possibility of analysis go as far as you can imagine.

The internship program was divided in three different stages, one for learning all the areas inside product engineering and two projects developed in different areas: 1) DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) course and job rotation through all product engineering areas. With these phases, we were able to understand what is the complete process to develop a new car and all areas and methodologies applied during this process.2) Body Structure: It was developed a cost optimization project involving weld and control gage devices using communization strategies. Generated more than 1M BRL in savings and resulted in 2 DFSS and OPEX projects. Granting to me the title of DFSS black belt. 3) Supplier quality: A new project involving correlation between VoP (Voice of the Process) with VoC (Voice of Costumer) methodology that aimed to map, improve and facilitate auditors to check supplier quality in sheet metal welded parts.
