After spending 10+ years in the audit world, I have moved to the tech start-up world as the Controller at a local fast-paced Austin tech company. As the controller, I ensure the close process is completely timely, maintain the equity accounting, perform reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets and prepaid assets, help to manage the year-end audit, and perform various tasks that pop up on a regular basis in the startup world. I have also worked to mentor and coach a senior accountant. During my time as an auditor,I performed worked on financial statement audits, SOX engagements, and other consulting engagements. I gained experience performing audits for clients within multiple industries, including technology, software, CPG, manufacturing, retail, not-for-profits and healthcare. I have performed audits of non-public companies, not for profits, public companies, and governmental entities.
