As the Program Director, I am responsible for managing adjunct instructors, advising students, holding Interiors advisory committee meetings, maintaining Blackboard courses, setting program budget, created course schedules, Interiors club sponsor and adviser, planning a program-wide Portfolio Show each Spring, and developing the Annual Plan for the program with the help of the student learning outcomes.In addition the administrative roles listed above, I also have taught the following courses while acting as the Program Director at Lanier Technical College (see below in my "Courses" section of my profile).

While working at Tracy Lynn Studio, I have been exposed to many additional aspects of interior design than my previous positions. Client facing meetings are a common appearance on a day to day basis while as a designer here. About six months into my role, I was transitioned into a more project management role - specifically on a large residential project. From there, I learned a lot about monitoring, communication, and the importance of meeting notes.

I went to Melbourne, Australia on a "working holiday visa" with no place to live or any job lined up when I moved. When I got there, I was welcomed by the country, city, and community of Richmond. I was pleasantly surprised that there was an opening for a position at West Elm in South Yarra (the Beverly Hills of Melbourne if you will). I was a Sales Associate, so my main focus was on furniture sales, yet I assisted with many installations of visual merchandising while in this role.

At Artisan Design Group, I worked with builders to create an initial design concept, detail out design drawings for construction of interior millwork and architectural details, pull specifications, and install all art and accessories in model homes throughout the country. In addition to design tasks, I was also managing a small team of 6-8 designers as the Design Manager.

While working for Airth Interiors, I was responsible for meeting with clients, setting up appointments with different vendors, and creating relationships between representatives and my lead designer. In addition, I was responsible for furniture and material selections, color schemes, styling, creating presentation boards, and technical AutoCAD drawings.

At HMC, I worked as a student intern in the interior design department at this large architectural firm in Ontario. I was responsible for creating presentation boards, specification binders, and job binders. I also had the oppurtunity to work closely under a LEED AP and learn more about sustainable design.
