As festival director, I lead the development, planning and execution of DesignMarch, Iceland’s annual design festival. I was also the manager of the Iceland Design Award, Iceland’s premier design honour. Responsibilities included conceiving of and overseeing marketing strategies, planning and public relations. I was also responsible for copywriting, website maintenance, budgeting, grant applications and contracts. During DesignMarch I served as a panel-moderator and speaker. I was in charge of recruitment and lead the staff team. In addition to DesignMarch, I organised, marketed and executed exhibitions of Icelandic design abroad. All of these projects included extensive communication with embassies, foreign guests, journalists and exhibitors.

Responsibilities included creating the program, planning courses and recruiting teachers.

Responsibilities including coming up with marketing strategies, developing and implementing them. I also did creative work and copywriting. I produced ads for TV ads and took photographs. I managed projects, communicated with clients, subcontractors and the media. I was in charge of budgets, delivered material to various types of media outlets and produced media plans.
