I am a Clinical-Community Psychologist, engaged in research, teaching, practice, and policy. I examine how individuals and their communities shape the enactment of culture and its impact on mental health and broader psychosocial well-being. I am thankful to live on Dena'ina lands in Alaska, in a very diverse community, Anchorage, with a growing newcomer population. I strive to answer the questions of concern to the communities in which I am embedded. My team and I use diverse, applied, community-engaged methods to work in partnership with community members to answer these questions and facilitate action. That includes interventions at multiple, interconnected levels - including policy, community action, prevention/promotion programming, and therapy. Nationally, I serve as the Representative from the Society of Community Research and Action to the legislative body of the American Psychological Association and was most recently elected to its Council Leadership Team.
