About Sara Liljander

I am a motivated and results-oriented physics professional with a strong technical background, excellent communication and organizational skills, and a high career ambition. I have worked with physics, medical devices, and healthcare technology since 2008.I hold a Master’s degree in Biological and Medical Physics from the University of Helsinki, and I am currently completing my PhD thesis in Biomedical Engineering at the Aalto University. In my thesis, I develop novel diagnostic tools for Alzheimer’s disease based on electrical brain activity (EEG). I have previous work experience as a physics teacher, resident medical physicist, researcher, and senior researcher.Additionally, I have a strong passion for entrepreneurship and startups. In 2016, I acted as the Vice Chair of the Board of Helsinki Think Company, the entrepreneurship society of the University of Helsinki. I try to encourage students and researchers to exploit the business opportunities offered by their research projects. Moreover, to build up my business knowledge, I have included courses on entrepreneurial leadership and finance in my doctoral studies.My future dream job would combine my passion for both healthcare technology and business. I look forward to new challenges, developing my skills, taking more responsibility, and working hard. After all, my dream job is not really a "job" but a way of living.
