As the RTS Transit Center passes 9 years, I'm giving its procedures deep revisions to reflect its stage of maturity. Cyber security procedures and standards are steadily gaining momentum. August 2023Security and safety are the watchwords of my daily work. I've handed-off the Agency Safety Plan duties but still provide supporting materials to help reduce Transit Worker Assaults. Cyber security is the other big area of focus. May 2023Successful submission of the 2023-26 Title VI Program Plan to the FTA with updates on how we've navigated bus operator shortages and public participation while selecting sites for new facilities.December 2022Successful acceptance of the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan by the NYS Public Transportation Safety Board. We're one of a handful of agencies to combine the NYS format with the FTA Bipartisan Infrastructure Act template.January 2021FTA Civil Rights Office accepted our 2020-2023 Title VI Program Plan. The 2000 page plan includes equity analyses for the complete system redesign and contactless fare system. RGRTA is required to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (“Title VI”), which provides that “No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
