Skyline Hospital is a Washington State Public Hospital District serving Western Klickitat County and eastern Skamania County. The hospital has 18 rooms, 14 of which are private, and three are all-in-one birthing suites (labor-delivery-recovery-and-post-partum). This critical access, acute care hospital gives its community quality care in the areas of obstetrics, surgery, cardiopulmonary, laboratory, and radiology. In my role as CFO, I performed the following functions: - Established and received Medicare certification for Skyline Clinic. The first dual certified Medicare and Medicaid, hospital-based Rural Health Clinic adjacent to an Emergency Room, in the nation - Directed all functions of the Business Office; Admissions, Finance, and MIS - Trained office staff on proper use of the computer system, implemented electronic billing, and initiated a new time plan system - Decreased days in A/R from 135 to 68, and days in A/P from 112 to 32 - Migrated from a System 36 to an AS/400 (HBOC) then converted to Meditech in partnership with Mid-Columbia Medical Center - Responsible for budget preparation, budget monitoring, rate setting, wage rate analysis, cost control/containment, filing of applicable state and federal reports, financial statements and monthly reporting to the Board - Worked with Human Resources to create and maintain personal policies, to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
