    Sara Sherman brought more than five years of public relations, marketing, event planning and customer service experience to the Omaha Children’s Museum team. A Drake University graduate, she began her career serving clients in various industries at Hanser & Associates Public Relations in West Des Moines, Iowa. When her husband’s graduate program brought them to Omaha, she began her journey at OCM in a special events and marketing coordination position. By creating events that drew more than 40,000 guests through museum doors in 2010 - 2012, Sara solidified herself as a strategic piece of moving the museum’s mission forward. In January 2013, she was tapped to lead the museum’s floor operations by increasing focus on the guest experience. She streamlined processes and increased floor staff feedback and engagement by asking the floor staff to elect their own leadership team. Floor staff engagement has also increased due to the introduction of secret museum guests visiting and offering feedback on their experience. By hiring a team of top-notch staff to overhaul the floor experience of the museum, guests flocked to the museum and the organization saw its highest attendance ever recorded in 2013.
