The present alignment tool could not input new data easily, was sensitive to nuisances that caused it to break easily, and was then outdated. Our project focused on building a new Excel VBA tool to optimize the alignment calculations, including increased complexity to handle any drivetrain arrangement, improved data management using OOP, and improving the user interface. Overall, we were able to improve the reliability, quality, maintainability, and accessibility of the alignment calculation tool.

Working with 3 professors, 1 high school teacher, and 2 other teaching assistants, we taught the students how to use CAD softwares (ie. Inventor and AutoCAD), simulation packages (ie. Working Model 2D), and coding platforms (ie. RobotC). The program consisted of two main projects: designing and fabrication a pendulum clock, and building a large kinetic sculpture with automated controls.
