INTO Oregon State University is a 50/50 partnership between INTO University Partnerships and Oregon State University that provides academic preparation, admissions, recruiting, and student services for international students at OSU.As an International Marketing and Recruitment Manager at INTO OSU, I supported students from lead generation to offer, acceptance, and arrival on-campus. I worked closely with our teams in the Middle East, South Asia, Africa, Europe, and Central Asia to support recruitment efforts and increase knowledge and brand awareness of Oregon State University, including travelling to region several times.

The U of I Global Student Success Program (the Navitas pathway at the University of Idaho) is a first year experience for international students who want or need extra support during their first year at university in the US. My primary role was in student recruitment—offering support to the students at every step of their journey to a US education. This included in-country recruitment, webinars, agent management, pre-arrival assistance, mock visa interviews, and more. I completed at least 3-4 in country recruitment trips per year. I frequented China, Taiwan, and Vietnam, but also have experience recruiting in India, Russia and CIS, Myanmar, Malaysia and many additional countries in South East Asia. Additional responsibilities included social media management (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), inventory management (promotional materials, partner relation gifts, office supplies), content creation for recruitment materials, event planning and execution for familiarization trips, student testimonial collection, basic photography and photo editing with Adobe Photoshop, and more.

During my college years at University of Idaho, I worked at the VandalStore--which is the bookstore for the University of Idaho. This was a wonderful opportunity to connect with alumni, current students and staff, and most importantly, prospective students. While this position allowed me to learn hard skills such as inventory management and store operations, I most valued the opportunity to provide a great experience for customers during their visit to the VandalStore, so they would enjoy their overall visit to the University of Idaho.

As a Brand Management Intern, a few of my responsibilities included leading the Quarter 4 national promotion, frequently presenting and communicating with team members in-person and remotely, and creating a kit for the sales team to present our quality products to customers in a more professional way.

My focus while in this position was to increase enrollment in study abroad programs by preparing and presenting presentations to groups large and small, organizing campus events, and work with students one-on-one to find the best study abroad option for them based on their particular wants and needs. I mainly focus on promoting programs provided by University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC)--who is the program provider of the study abroad program I attended for a semester in Alicante, Spain.

In this position, I assisted the store manager with administrative duties such as entering daily sales data into QuickBooks. Recognized the need for and created signage to improve communication with Spanish speakers. Marketed to roughly 2,000 people via email and Facebook.

Organized recruitment events and the end of the semester awards ceremony.

Worked with companies such as iShoutOut and The Palouse Project. Involved in the Central American Youth Ambassadors program (CAYA). November employee of the month. Participated in “Secret Shops” for local businesses in the Palouse and engaged in cold calls offering our marketing services to local businesses.
