Including ensuring the two Payroll Coordinators are trained and supported to assist 4500+ team members. There are several nuances of this position but one of the opportunities I seized was to become the Kronos/UKG expert. I was able to quickly learned the ins-and-outs of how data flowed to, from, and within Kronos. Having this particular knowledge and the practice in being able to shift gears to keep things running was tremendously helpful in figuring out how to process payroll without Kronos during their cyber-attack. As well as effectively communicating with the appropriate departments to bring the system back up and import the missing data back into Kronos in the correct order to minimize errors and ensure the system was ready to capture time for us to process payroll again. Another seized opportunity is that in my time at Watco, we’ve trimmed our payroll processing time from 9+ hours to averaging 4 hours. This accomplishment is attributed to finding ways to focus on being proactive rather than reactive in all of our daily, weekly, monthly, yearly tasks.
