Covered cybersecurity for an audience of cybersecurity professionals, beginning before most people had heard of the term"cybercrime." Ran the features section. Booked and anchored the Dark Reading video news desk. Booked and hosted webinars. Moderated events at industry conferences in the US, India, China, and Singapore. Conducted original research, original reporting, original interviews, and scrupulous attribution -- and required the same of the writers whose work I edited.

Write commentary and analysis about the NBA for the second-most read sports site in the U.S.

Tripled user engagement and doubled page views on a highly interactive site. I directed editorial projects and created content strategies. Managed a highly collaborative team of editors and worked tightly with marketing associates, project managers, designers, and developers. My team and I covered the intersection of culture and technology through the written word, infographics, live online radio, live online video, and social media events. In my work here I’ve covered an array of topics, from healthcare, to sports IT, to a 10-part series about career advancement. I also interviewed high-profile tech executives, including the chief information officers of the National Basketball Association, the U.S. Tennis Association, and Thomson Reuters.

As senior editor, my duty was to develop CSI's content strategy—for publications, live conferences, virtual conferences, and online content—and direct all content-related endeavors. This included blogging, tweeting and writing in-depth analysis of cybersecurity issues for CSI's flagship monthly publication for security professionals. I also edited and designed CSI publications, and managed both full-time employees and freelancers. I worked closely with the CSI conference management team, selecting conference speakers, working with speakers on their presentations, and advising on conference operations and marketing.This position also required me to serve as an industry expert and conduct original research. I created the CSI Working Group on Web Security Research Law and authored our inaugural report—the only in-depth research yet conducted on the topic. I also researched, wrote and designed the 2009 edition of the CSI Computer Crime and Security Survey (one of the most widely quoted pieces of cybersecurity research). I have been interviewed by multiple media outlets, including SecurityFocus.com, DarkReading.com, Federal News Radio and National Public Radio's The Sound of Ideas. I taught sessions at CSI conferences and other industry events, organized and moderated panel discussions, and presented a public Webcast to an audience of over 1,800.

Responsibilities: writing the bulk of editorial content for the SEAS quarterly alumni magazine; coordinating freelance assignments; editing submissions; designing illustrations, displays, brochures and logos, and; contributing to the school's communication strategy.
