I creating a positive learning atmosphere and developing good rapport with students, allowing them to become engaged and involved in all activities while adopting the Vaughan method. The Vaughan method is fast-paced in that exercises are kept short, it involves a lot of repetition and it is all done orally. I was sometimes faced with the challenge of teaching classes of mixed ability students. Given that I taught in companies and on a freelance basis, it was important for me to be extremely organised with regards to planning my time, arriving to classes on time at different locations around the city, turning up with the right materials and producing well-planned lessons with suitable material.
