I know that the office is abuzz at the prospect of a new personality hire, but have you considered the inadvertent benefits of working with a coffee-gobbling, spreadsheet maven who mostly keeps to their self? I spent eight, whirlwind years as a middle school librarian before deciding to part amicably with public education. I loved teaching, and I loved the complexity and autonomy that accompanied my role as librarian, but my career in education was taking a toll on the other areas of my life, so I set out to find a better fit. I'm immensely proud of the work I did as a teacher and library program manager, and I use what I learned in this role to this day.In Fall 2018 I began working from home for Signal Centers - a local non-profit that helps people who have disabilities with services that empower them to live happier, more fulfilled lives. In the past five I've worked as a Data Specialist, collecting, connecting, and visualizing data, and as an Office Coordinator, keeping our team on track to provide excellent training and consultation products to our clientele across multiple funding and referral streams.I feel so passionately about the work that we do! I love digging in to address process problems, cross training to facilitate collaboration, and being an ambassador for our program. If you don't want a colleague who cares deeply about the clients and the mission, I'm not going to be right for you.I will always- volunteer to take meeting notes and forward them to the team- choose sharing documents and information as a default- send an unsolicited link to something that I think you'll find interestingI will never- choose small talk over quiet- willingly set a meeting in the first hour of the work day- shy away from asking a question when I need more information.
