It has been estimated that in 2015 alone, around 380,000 people died of meningitis. After effects of this disease have also been estimated to occur in over 1 million survivors, some of whom now battle with lifelong conditions. In 2015, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to embark on a fundraising project for the Meningitis Research Foundation. During this time I raised a total of 615 pounds.By organising sponsored events and activities, I was able to collect donations and also to spread awareness of the devastating effects and repercussions of meningitis. My affiliation to this cause is ongoing, and I hope to be able to contribute more in the future.
