Sara is a design leader with over 20 years of experience that encompasses design research, strategy, service, interaction and visual design. Sara is part of the leadership team at The Holding Co. helping to redesign how we care for each other in the 21st century.Prior to her current role she headed up the 30+ design team at OpenTable, managing a leadership team of six, across product, design systems, UX research, brand and content strategy. She was also part of the leadership team at frog design where she played a unique role as a group director inspiring, resourcing and managing San Francisco’s cross-functional design team. Sara has a passion for health care, food/agriculture, conservation, social impact and education. The majority of her work over the past decade has been focused here, plus the nine years previously spent working with non-profits and foundations. She approaches design challenges by looking across the entire system to build a cohesive experience. She also typically looks for behavior modifications that will produce positive, sustaining change. Beyond her lead role on design projects, Sara has also co-led several workshops on sustainable design and design/research processes, including coaching for CapitalOne design thinking workshops.She holds a Masters in Design Methods from the IIT Institute of Design in Chicago, as well as a BFA in Film, Photography and Visual Arts from Ithaca College in New York.
