Currently working as a curator with the EpiCoV Data Curation Team for GISAID. My role was to curate incoming sequences from laboratories around the world generating viral genome sequence data with unprecedented speed for the COVID-19 disease. Currently, our team has curated more than 10, 000 sequences following the outbreak.

During this tenure, I have been specially appointed by the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia to assist in scientific writing and to increase their number of publications. My job responsibilities were including editing and proofreading manuscripts as well as assisting in the paper submission. I have worked on papers ranging from 14 departments under this faculty. Myprevious experience in publishing 14 papers during my research has enabled me in executing the current task confidently and successfully.

I engaged in writting a manual on 'climate change impact on Aquaculture' for an anonymous research institute.

Being an enthusiastic and versatile researcher, I have furthered my research experience in RNA biology during my postdoctoral tenure. Along the journey, I have actively participated in the ongoing projects, grasped many essential molecular techniques and have formed a good rapport with team members. Briefly, I have engaged in a study to establish the relationship between mRNA splicing factors and DNA damage response in cancer cell lines as well as the role of mRNA splicing factors in m6A methylation. We have characterized RNA binding Protein (RBM) role in DNA damage after radiation and subsequent alteration in the expression of DNA damage response (DDR) factor. Moreover, we have also characterized that RBM is colocalized with m6A and influences m6a modulation level of RNA in vivo. In addition, I have also engaged in a project, to characterize RBM role in megakaryotic differentiation. This includes investigating the role of RBM in primary cultures and megakaryotic cell lines (MEG-01 and K562). Besides that, I have also helped the research assistants and students involved in the related projects to design and troubleshoot experiments.

I have engaged in a project to develop a marker for an invasive prenatal screening test for common foetal aneuploidies specifically trisomy 18 and 21.

Have served as a lab demonstrator for undergraduate, in which have taught them on basic molecular analysis including RNA and DNA extraction (plant and animal), PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, DNA sequencing, Fragment Analysis and Real-time PCR

Worked in sub-project, “Est-Microsatellite in Parentage Assignment to Improvise Giant River Prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii Breeding” under Assoc. Prof. Dr. Subha Bhassu during research assistantship from 2010-2011.(Project Output: Patent- No: (PI2013701608) with Invention Title: “A Method of Identifying Parentage in Freshwater Prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii”
