I am originally a Chartered Mechanical Engineer from Sri Lanka. I worked as a mechanical engineer for 18 years before moving to New Zealand in 1997 and completing additional fire engineering qualifications here.“I particularly enjoy analyzing problems to get to the heart of the challenge. From there I can use my experience in fire protection systems and knowledge of New Zealand legislation to design the most appropriate cost effective engineering solutions.”Away from work, I enjoy turning my mind to less mechanical interests, such as religious studies, politics, animals and natural science.

Fire engineering design in compliance with Acceptable Solutions and specify active and passive fire engineering systems. Preparation of fire engineering briefs and specific fire engineering designs in compliance with C/VM2.Carrying out fire modeling using BRISK zone model software and CFD modelling using FDS and radiation calculations using Firewind. Design fire protection systems to comply with AS/NZS4512:1213 and meet with any special client requirements.Liaise with builders, building owners, project managers and architects.Discuss issues with local authorities such as city councils and the New Zealand Fire Service.
