My role encompasses both communications and marketing. Promoting partner programs such as donation drives, on-site broadcasts, fundraisers, contests, special events, and on-air programs are all part of the scope of work. I have managed initiatives with partners including the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago White Sox, Magnificent Mile Association, and others. I write and send press releases for both WGN Radio and the Antenna-TV television network, manage WGN's social accounts, write promotional web content, monitor audience feedback and interaction through social and email, liaise with talent and the sales team, develop promotions (including one that brought in more than $76K in incremental revenue and will become a yearly initiative), and fine-tune decks. I have been an on-air spokesperson for events and promotions alike. I turn a "no" into a "no but we can do this" and offer solutions for ways a program can be executed. I write 15 second promotional radio copy and live read talking points for talent, design or direct the design of graphics, and work collaboratively with legal on contesting. I have pitched local businesses for participation in a bi-monthly video series that ran for 18 months, secured talent, filmed the videos on site, and prompted talent with additional interview questions when necessary. I craft comprehensive recaps for the sales team and give recommendations for future growth regarding specific programs. I previously managed all of the station's awards and served as the station ambassador at the 2019 Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome Awards Gala in Springfield, Ill. and gave remarks upon being named Station of the Year.
